‘Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five’ has taken the world by storm in 2016. The record that brought Paul McCartney fame in the 1970s, reincarnated by Timo Maas and James Teej has now been reworked by Paul Woolford and premiered on the Cool Hunting website.
It was April 2016 when the mysterious white label first appeared in select record stores. NME broke the news of “the origins of a mysterious house remix of Paul McCartney” and it was labelled “an instant classic that captured the imagination of music fans” by Billboard.
Paul Woolford has been known under many monikers throughout his illustrious career as a dance music DJ and producer, such as the groundbreaking Special Request and Bobby Peru. But none are as renowned as his birth name, with which he lifts ‘Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five’ to new heights, going as far to extend it to an 18-minute jam in his full-length remix.
The Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five single is now out.
