London-based electronic duo Small Hours is the refreshing new collaboration between Alex Mills and Alex Patten. With Mills having worked with Basement Jaxx and Tricky and Patten’s background as a multi-instrumentalist and singer for brooding project Fine Print & Michael Kiwnanukah, their musical histories are varied and versatile.
Their band name, inspired by singer song-writer John Martyn and the post-night out haze of an after party, aligns with their deeply rhythmic, languorous sound.
Following on from a successful tour supporting Elder Island the duo have released their debut single “Shoe Box” which was written alongside Marc Pell of the renowned Micachu & The Shapes (now known as Good Sad Happy Bad). It is a distinctively self-assured debut paving the way for what is sure to be a colossal year for the talented duo.
