We are very excited to announce that our boy Amirali has done the latest instalment of the Crosstown Rebels Podcast. This DJ mix provides a little presentation about the sets he will be performing at selected forthcoming gigs. Serious business!

Luca Lozano digs deep into his record collection and dusts off some tracks that inspire him as a DJ, as a producer and as a label owner for the brilliant White Light mixes website. Heres what the man said about the opportunity…

“Being part of The White Light mixes was an opportunity to delve deep into my crates and pull out some of the tracks which give me inspiration as a DJ, producer and label owner. I wanted to stay away from the relentless 4×4 beats, leave the tracks unwarped, unedited and in their original glory….allowing the tracks breath in a loose mix that has more in common with a radio playlist than a club set. My mix goes from jazz to funk, from post-hardcore to pre-grunge, and whilst the tracklist is seemingly all over the shop the selection is still somehow linked by a melancholic and sombre feeling. I made this mix whilst in the middle of finalising my debut album, one that heavily relies on the sampling culture and wanted to include some tracks which I and others have sampled from, which hopefully provides a nice backstory and some sort of overall cohesion to the mix.”

Steve Lawler will be leading the new VIVa Warriors takeover every Wednesday this summer at Sankeys Ibiza. From July 4th VIVa MUSiC and Steve Lawler will invite carefully selected guests to create a brand new date in the Ibizan clubbing calendar, an exciting new curation of electronic music at the islands freshest underground establishment, Sankeys. If that doesn’t get you in the mood then check out this video made by the guys at ‘Behind The Shutter.’

Our very own Tim Green goes in hard with his new EP for Get Physical . He takes a familiar warm glow and spins it into what has become ‘The Quiet Hour EP’. Described as a funky piece full of jumpy bass, steady kicks and eccentric vocal cuts, it maintains a swinging feel to it, while holding you hostage with its house-y percussion. Make sure you go and give it a listen!

Three years ago a plan was being hatched… The idea was simple, find a unique venue, book the djs that inspire us, bring the best crowd along, and have one hell of a party… That idea was Bedlam!

Three years on, Bedlam has become a runaway success and a whirlwind of crazy night after crazy night, with every party surpassing the last. When Bedlam takes place things get crazy inside ‘The Tunnel’ – the Napoleonic fortress that we call home! In resident DJ Tim Green we have one of the most talented DJ/Producers in the UK and we’ve been able to showcase international guests such as Steve Lawler, Martin Buttrich, M.A.N.D.Y, Cassy, Claude Von Stroke, Matthias Tanzmann, Tobi Neumann, Heidi, Dan Ghenacia, Robert Dietz and many more. All of the hardwork and amazing parties even culminated in being nominated by DJ MAG as Best UK Clubnight of 2011.

So it is with great pride and excitement that we can finally reveal full details of Bedlam’s 3rd Birthday. For this landmark occasion we have put together possibly our best line up to date. Alongside Tim Green we welcome the outstanding talents that are Dyed Soundorom & Catz N Dogz.

Dyed Soundorom is without doubt one of the most exciting dj/producers on the planet today. The charismatic Frenchman’s ability to build a groove and work a dancefloor into a complete frenzy has made him one of the most talked about djs in the house and techno scene. His DJ schedule reads like a who’s who of the best clubs in the world – Including his residency at the world famous Circoloco @ DC10, Ibiza, where his sets have become the stuff of legend, destroying the dacefloor every Monday. Its also fair to say that as a producer Dyed has been responsible for some of the biggest productions of the past 3 years. His remixes of artists like Maya Jane Coles, Till Von Sein & Lee Foss became instant classics. We have been trying to book this man for quite some time now, so its with great pleasure that we are able to finally bring Dyed to The Tunnel to celebrate our 3rd Birthday. Its going to be crazy!

Catz’n’Dogz, the highly acclaimed Polish born Berlin based duo, are one of the most in demand acts in dance music. Their bass heavy DJ sets have seen them play in every continent in some of the world’s greatest clubs. After releasing two superb albums, the duo set up the fantastic Pets Recordings imprint and have successfully and continuously hit a string of AnR home runs notably 2011’s biggest track of the year: Eats Everything’s Entrance Song. With their sound deeply rooted in House & Techno, their versatility as producers has seen them release on Get Physical, Claude Von Stroke’s Mothership and remix on labels like Buzzin Fly, Strictly Rhythm, Ellum Audio and many many more. There’s no doubt that Catz’n’Dogz will deliver something very special indeed for Bedlam’s 3rd Birthday.

Of course, leading the charge on this truly special event is Bedlam co founder and resident Tim Green. As a producer, you cannot deny his uniqueness and incredible versatility, having built a huge worldwide reputation around releases and remixes for some of the worlds most renowned labels and artists. As a DJ, he tours the world on a constant basis, however Bedlam is the place he feels most at home, and able to experiment. With huge new releases lined up for 2012 with the likes of Cocoon & Get Physical, he will demonstrate a new direction in his amazing sound, Bedlam’s 3rd Birthday will be the perfect opportunity to hear what he has up his sleeve. Expect Tim to do what he does best and and destroy the Tunnel on June 30th!

Completing the line up is fellow Bedlam resident Alex Kilby, who’s sets over the past 3 years have been nothing short of breathtaking and who’s ability never ceases to surprise. Finally founder of Pause and the driving force behind Mojo nightclub Mark Derry will be making his much anticipated return to the Bedlam decks.

Happy Birthday Bedlam
x

After an astounding party in October, with Kollektiv Turmstrasse delivering a mesmerising live show alongside the enchanting Laura Jones, front man Tim Green and M.A.N.D.Y’s legendary Patrick Bodmer. We have been desperate to get back in the warehouse and do it all again, but in true Bedlam style we’ve taken our time and crafted the most perfect musical evening. Knowing expectations will be high, and it must be better than the last, we accept your challenge!

We’ve teamed up with visual performance experts, Rebel Overlay, who will be designing and building a personalized installation, to create live and interactive 3D mapping on the night. With another incomparable and atmospheric venue ready and waiting, we will be working closely with sound experts, sound-services, to ensure pin-point quality through the entire space. Every detail will be scrutinized to perfection, in the aim of exceeding the last.

Tim Green should need no introduction to Bedlam followers. With a world touring schedule busting at the seams, performing to crowds in every continent on a weekly basis, there is still only one place that Tim calls home, and that is Bedlam. Diving headfirst into 2012 with a dark and twisted remix of Sacha Robotti ft Qzen’s Fotograf on Klasse Recordings and, following on from last year’s ‘In Love EP’ on Get Physical, he has teamed up with Robert Dietz & Audiofly for a remix package due for release in April. This summer Tim’s unmistakable & irresistible groove as well as his off-kilter cheekiness will see him return once more to Cocoon to release the outstanding ‘Curious Smile’ single, plus an EP for Get Physical as well as remixes for Supernature & Oh Yeah Records.

David August will be joining Tim as headline guest on the night, gracing us with his only appearance in London this Summer. Surrounded by intrigue, and already a priceless member of the Diynamic family, we are proud and excited to invite this young and undeniably talented musician. His stunning debut EP ‘Instant Harmony’ was released on Diynamic in 2010, followed by masterful remixes for DJ Phono and DJ T, not to mention the huge ‘True Romance’ single for Cocoon Records. Anyone who has seen him live will testify to the brilliance of this young man and with his debut album waiting in the wings, due to hit at the end of the Summer, we couldn’t see a better time to bring him to Bedlam London.

Also joining us will be Till Von Sein, a permanent fixture on the Berlin underground house scene, and an integrated cog in the capital’s Suol imprint. This was the natural choice of home for his stirring album ‘#Ltd’, out in October last year, to much critical approval. Maintaining a hectic schedule zigzagging the clubbing institutions of the world, whilst dropping impressive productions with Supplement Facts, Soulfooled, Morris Audio and Pets Recordings, Till is certain to prevail on the night with his characteristic strain of soulful deep house.

Warming things up on the night will be close friends and underground east London party brand Kitsch & Sync. As part of the family they are always trusted to set the tone of impeccable music and incomparable vibes. Kitsch & Sync will be the official host of our much deserved after party, so look out for information on the night.

We can also tempt you with news of a special guest, a spellbinding live act to be kept a secret until the week of the event. With this in mind, the onset of our third installment exceeds all expectations, not only cropping up to be the biggest Bedlam to date, but amounting to one for the history books.
